Terms and conditions for using our services

1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the services provided by CLC Technologies (Pty) Ltd ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Services Provided
CLC Technologies provides security services including but not limited to:
- CCTV surveillance system installation and maintenance
- Access control system installation
- Alarm system installation and monitoring
- Electric fencing installation
- Gate automation systems
- Network and IT security solutions
- Online and cloud-based security services
3. Quotations and Pricing
All quotations provided are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change based on:
- Changes in scope of work requested by the client
- Unforeseen site conditions discovered during installation
- Currency fluctuations affecting equipment costs
- Changes in supplier pricing
4. Payment Terms
A deposit of 50% is required before commencement of work. The remaining balance is due upon completion of installation and before handover. For larger projects, milestone payments may be arranged. Payment can be made via EFT, credit card, or cash. Late payments may incur interest at the prevailing prime rate plus 2%.
5. Warranty
We provide the following warranties:
- Equipment: Manufacturer's warranty (typically 2 years for Hikvision products)
- Workmanship: 1 year from date of installation
- Cabling: 1 year from date of installation
Warranties do not cover damage caused by lightning, power surges, vandalism, misuse, or unauthorized modifications to the system.
6. Client Responsibilities
The client agrees to:
- Provide safe and reasonable access to the installation site
- Ensure electrical power is available at required locations
- Obtain any necessary permissions from landlords or body corporates
- Inform us of any known hazards on the property
- Maintain the system according to provided guidelines
7. Limitation of Liability
While we strive to provide reliable security systems, we cannot guarantee the prevention of all security incidents. Our systems are designed to deter, detect, and record incidents, but are not a substitute for proper security practices. We are not liable for losses resulting from criminal activity, system failures due to external factors (power outages, internet failures), or improper use of the system.
8. Intellectual Property
All system configurations, network designs, and installation methods remain the intellectual property of CLC Technologies. Clients receive a license to use the installed systems but may not reverse engineer, copy, or distribute our proprietary configurations.
9. Data and Privacy
We handle all personal and surveillance data in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Clients are responsible for ensuring their use of CCTV systems complies with applicable privacy laws, including proper signage and notification requirements.
10. Cancellation
Cancellations must be made in writing. If cancellation occurs after equipment has been ordered, the client is responsible for any non-refundable costs. Deposits are non-refundable if cancellation occurs less than 7 days before scheduled installation.
11. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these terms shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes will be subject to mediation before any legal proceedings. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
